About Mink
Mink are sleek, semi-aquatic members of the weasel family, found along rivers, streams, and marshes across most of North America. Dark brown, almost black fur — long prized in the fur trade — covers a long, slender, partially webbed-toed body built for hunting fish, crayfish, small mammals, and waterfowl on both land and water. They den in hollow logs, burrows, or abandoned muskrat lodges, and shift their diet seasonally between aquatic and terrestrial prey depending on what's available.
