About this property
9,957 acres of Post Oak Savannah in Anderson County, 21 miles northwest of Palestine. Rolling sandy hills of post oak fall away to hardwood bottomland, roughly a fifth of the area, draining into Catfish Creek. Springs and pitcher plant bogs survive on what is now an island of savannah in country otherwise gone to pasture and cut timber.
