Corps of Engineers Land
Somerville PHL
- Annual Public Hunting Permit
About this property
3,530 acres of Corps of Engineers shore around Lake Somerville in Burleson and Lee counties, in two units — the larger beside the state park's trailway and Nails Creek, and the 350-acre Flag Pond unit. The Corps dammed Yegua Creek in 1967 after it had flooded in 43 of the previous 46 years; the banks are sand under post oak, yaupon and willow, and the hunting is from the shoreline.

Seasons and bag limits (19)
These need no draw. You still need the right licence and permit, and the seasons below are the ones published for this property.
Hunting with a raptor? Your limit is 3 migratory game birds a day, and three times that in possession — the total across every species you fly at, not 3 of each. It caps the daily bags shown above.
TPWD: “Falconry daily bag and possession limits shall not exceed 3 and 9 migratory game birds respectively, singly or in the aggregate.”
