About this property
500 acres on the shore of Lake Colorado City, a power company's cooling reservoir on Morgan Creek south of I-20, roughly halfway between Midland and Abilene. TPWD leased the park for half a century and bought it outright in December 2024. Open grassland once and mesquite now; the staff burn to push the grass back, and wildflowers follow the fires.
