26,153 acres of South Texas brush wrapped around Choke Canyon Reservoir in Live Oak and McMullen counties, taking in the whole shoreline except the park units themselves and the dam. Cover is mesquite, blackbrush and huisache over ground that was open grassland before fire suppression.
