300,000 acres of northern Chihuahuan Desert along the Rio Grande between Presidio and Lajitas, the largest state park in Texas. Nothing here runs year-round: the country is dry arroyo and open scrub climbing from 2,300 feet at the river to 5,135 at Oso Mountain.
