Public Hunting Program (Leased Private Land)

South Alice

Jim Wells County, Texas · 173 acres

  • Annual Public Hunting Permit

About this property

A small square of South Texas brush four miles south of Alice, boxed in by US 281 on one side and county road 481 on the other, with a single stock tank near the middle. At 173 acres there is not a great deal of it.

It opens for the first split of the South Zone dove season and for nothing else — mourning, white-winged, white-tipped, Eurasian collared and feral pigeon. Parking is along the county road, so pull well clear of the traffic and use the cross-overs rather than the fences.
